During COVID-19, young people are spending more time online. This is important for their connections to friends and family, for school, and for fun. However, it’s crucial to note that there could be increased risks to children and youth with all this screen time. Parents need to navigate the challenges of keeping children safe, while also negotiating work, family responsibilities, and economic uncertainties. The prevention of harm is a must when children are using the internet frequently. As INGOs, we need to recognize that even our interventions are also increasing their exposure when we use virtual modalities in our programming.
